2024 DPR RI Member Inauguration Decorated with Artist's Faces: What is the Impact?
In the upcoming DPR RI 2024 election, which was held on October 2, 2024, many Indonesian nationals will become citizens. Prominent names such as Verrel Bramasta, Pasha Ungu, Ahmad Dhani, and even the comedians; Komeng, Uya Kuya and Deny Cagur were mentioned in passing. Their disagreement raises many questions about the subject that they may be oblivious to in politics.
The priority of DPR RI members' 2024 election is not only due to their political agenda, but also to the numerous artists who are currently occupying strategic positions in the government. From Verrel Bramasta, who is known as a young handsome actor, to Komeng, a comedian, these well-known faces were subtly introduced during the pre-event celebration in Jakarta.
With the emergence of this phenomenon, numerous debates about the effectiveness and value of artists in political discourse arose. Uya Kuya responded to this speculation in an interview with Metro TV. "Maybe the artists who become members of the DPR have more impact than those who are not artists," he said in an upbeat manner, acknowledging the importance of the idea that historians can provide new perspectives in policymaking.
Not all political phenomena are new, but the compositions of the DPR RI in this year's edition draw more attention due to the large number of well-crafted works. The politician and musician Ahmad Dhani had previously expressed criticism after criticism of the government's policies. However, Pasha Ungu, who also served as the city's watchman, brought about more difficult political outcomes.
According to political scientist Dodi Ambardi, this train may potentially impede the shift in public preferences for voting rakyat members. "There's a chance that these artists can evoke public emotions in a way that is more direct than traditional political rhetoric," they said. An important question now is, how do they work in the parlor now?
