Aliens Probably Exist: The Case for Extraterestrial Life👽

from GIPHY

Imagine this scenario, you are gazing up at the stars on a clear night sky, realising each twinkling light is just a glimpse of something much bigger than we can comprehend. The universe stretches infinitely, home to countless galaxies, stars and planets. Yet, YOU STILL THINK THAT EARTH IS THE ONLY PLACE TO LIVE???

While there is no concrete evidence of intelligent extraterrestrials, scientific discoveries are increasingly pointing to the possibility of life beyond Earth. From indications and hypothesis of microbial life on other planet to NASA's discoveries of Earth-twin planets, evidences is growing that life is exist somewhere out there.

#Redefining "Alien"

When you hear the word "alien", you probably think of a small, green creature with a bulbous eyes, oversized black eyes and spindly limbs. Perhaps you imagine it standing in a sleek, silver spaceship, studying humans with an otherworldly curiosity, as popularised by the media. Well, little did you know guys that the term "alien" simply means any life form that did not originate on Earth, and yes, this could even include the tiniest microorganisms.

NASA has spotted signs of compounds that could support life on the red planet, Mars. There are methane emissions and frozen water, which suggest that microbial life might be present. Similarly, scientists have detected saltwater oceans beneath an icy crust on one of the Jupiter's moon, Europa. This could be a place where microbial life exists in form similar to those found in extreme environments on Earth.

#Earth-like Planets
Kepler-452b

With so many Earth-like planets being discovered, it is becoming more and more likely that there is probability life could exists out there in the universe, suggesting that we may not be alone in the universe. One of NASA's most famous finding is Kepler-452b, which is in the "habitable zone" where water could exist, much like on our beloved Earth. Scientists believe that, due to its position in this temperate zone, Kepler-452b could have conditions on its surface that would allow liquid water to exist, which is one of the essential components for life as we understand it. This finding has got people excited about the potential for discovering Earth-like conditions beyond our solar system and has raised hopes for the existence of other life-supporting planets.

#ALIEN DOES NOT EQUALS HIGH-INTELLIGENCE BEING

One common question people ask is, "If alien exist, why haven't they contacted us?"
This skepticism is once again, fueled by science fiction portrayals of intelligent extraterrestrial civilizations. However, the reality might be simpler, any alien life that exists may be in a primitive stage, much like microorganisms on Earth. If alien life is limited to microbes or other non-technologically advanced forms, communication is naturally impossible. By redefining your comprehension of alien to even microscopic life, you can see that alien life does not have to mean intelligence beings; it might simply mean any living being that originated outside Earth.

With cientific evidence of possible microorganisms on other planets, followed by the discovery of Earth-twin planets in habitable zones, and ongoing exploration by the expert, the idea of life beyond Earth becomes increasingly plausible. As our technology improves, we should also be open to the idea of finding life on the other side of the universe. Until the, it is important to challenge our preconceptions about extraterrestrial life, moving beyond Hollywood stereotypes to embrace the true vastness of the universe and the potential for life in all its forms.
